On August 19th Topeka traveled down to Minor Park in Kansas City to participate in Johnson County's Harlot 10's Tournament. Topeka had strong numbers taking 8 players all with game time experience. Many other teams, asked many Topeka individuals after the tournament who we played for and were surprised when many of us said Topeka. Topeka was also noted for having the funnest tent camp, all of which i will give credit to the good looking girls they came with us.
For those who haven't been to a Harlot's tournament before, its really quite simple. All rugby players put their name on a piece of paper, with their respective position. (forward, back, or scrumhalf) Then 10 names are drawn out of a hat which creates a team. This year there was 4 teams, that all played hard. And i can honestly say that there wasn't an easy team to beat. Funny how that worked out. In general though this is a fun tournament right before the merit table season begins, and is a great way to introduce new players to the game. Oh i almost forgot this tournament was hosted by the JC Sundogs who put on a great tourney and made sure the beer never stopped flowing. Thank you JC.
Cheers boys
